I’m opening the door of the building and stepping out on the street. A man passes me by. We are going in the same direction. I look at him fascinated and get so curious. Who IS this man? So many things in the scene that don’t add up for me. It’s as if a gal introduces herself as Anna and you see that she is a Bonny. So, we have an older man with a head that could fit on a body of a lawyer, a doctor or a head of agency. Neat jacket, trousers and high ankle boots, all made of leather – could be a motorcycle soldier from the WWII who went through a time portal, an old rocker who got stuck in the 80’s, a biker or a guy from a gay leather scene who modelled for Tom of Finland in his prime. He pushes a wheelchair with some stuff put in a medium-sized cardboard box. Felt the urge to step up to him and just say: “Hi! Can you tell me a little about yourself?”, but didn’t. Next time I meet someone fascinating, I’ll take a journalistic approach, make or break. They say reality surpases fiction. I don’t know what’s this guy’s story but it’s nice when people flip off the Swedish normalization hysteria and don’t give a crap to strive to be recognized as normal. Whatever that is.
